vEight I could care less if it runs on regular or not, I just want a product like this from GM. If you really want it and can afford it you'll pay premium

burritotacosalsa too bad the manufacturers are not going to tune the car to run regular.

its almost always going to be tuned with premium gas.

those TT 6 figures are cribbed from the ATS. TBH you can reduce the need for premium fuel by running a richer a/f ratio, a more retarded timing map, or both. It all comes down to the map for the application...

vEight Got to love the output of a TT V6.
But the downside is once you open it up on the road in a higher speed and RPM range it wont sound like a V8. Just a small downside

lemony squeezy 6TT and 6.2 8 Compared

vEight 6 tt is the way to go, i know i wouldn`t mind it. as long as it sounds good and delivers the type of performance we all demand of it, there shouldn`t be much of a problem

lemony squeezy it makes sense, sort of. I mean that engine was transplanted out of the Corvette and still runs a massive compression ratio, so theres your premium need right there.

a 6 TT might not be as sexy as the 6.2 but all you have to do is look at Ford and its pretty much a done deal. Ford could of jammed the raptors 6.2 in the Tremor but whats the point when you get nailed for gas guzzler tax and then alienate your buyer even further as it demands premium only.

No, if they really want to appeal to the masses they need a 6 TT. it satisifes economy and performance all while minimizing fuel costs as much as possible. Plus its not exactly beneficial for them to create a new model derivative that's going to be CAFE negative.

bigsapper Pretty sure that article is wrong. No E85 in the 6.2 weighed heavily on my deciding not to wait for the Cheyenne.

I know of few that have already taken delivery of 6.2 Silverados and they have all confirmed premium fuel and not flex fuel. I'll follow up on the engine number.
