What is Cheyenne?

Chevy has done a Silverado Cheyenne before except it was simply a special edition. I'm not sure what was included in the package, but maybe one of you could share?

wonder why chevy decided to name an entire concept of a special trim package...

At least the Cheyenne name has some history and isn't just some new random name they came up with. Now, it's set to be on a performance model, sweet!

From wikipedia

that name was used multiple times

American Motors used the name for its Rambler Cheyenne concept station wagon that was exhibited at the 1964 Chicago Auto Show.[1] This model should also not be confused with the Cheyenne trim badging used on the Chevrolet C/K pickup prior to 1998. In Mexico, the Chevrolet Cheyenne is also a luxury trim for Chevrolet Silverado, is also available in Regular Cab since the 1980s, Extended Cab since 1998 year model and Crew Cab since 2005 year model.

Cheyenne is like their version of GMC's Denali, easy way to put it to those unfamiliar.

Interesting. Now I really doubt that any production version will be called Cheyenne. I think there is too much history with SS to have it replaced by a luxo trim name.

Well this concept is directly called the Silverado Cheyenne

But its still a Chevy Silverado. So I guess in this case the Cheyenne is like a trim?>

It's like how BMW has M vehicles and then M-Sport trims with just a tiny bit of what the top performance model has.

I guess, but in terms of selling it I think Silverado SS will go over better with buyers, theres already a history there.

that and it might be cheaper, the Silverado Cheyenne seems to have a lot of fancy things like carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber tail gate, etc.... all of which drives its price up

I feel like that stuff was just retrofitted last minute for a show

Don't think we'll see it on production.
