Cheyenne is 200 lbs lighter than a typical Silverado with the 5.8L, short cab/short box layout. Carbon fiber was used for the front and rear bumpers, side skirts and tailgate. Other weight saving measures include, hitch delete, spare delete, center stack delete, aluminium drive shaft and composite leaf springs.
Keep in mind though, if Cheyenne does make it to production as Silverado SS most of that equipment will be lost for conventional components to keep cost down. You have to figure with the F-150 Tremor coming in ~ $25K the Silverado needs to come in around there or risk pricing itself right out of the market.
