Toyota to unveil Raptor/Reaper fighting pick-up, Tundra TRD Pro

Toyota is not going to be left behind int he pick-up truck market. It is planning to unveil a new "TRD Pro" trim for its Tundra at next month's Chicago auto show.

We don't know much about the Tundra TRD Pro right now, but there is this commercial that was posted to YouTube. From the ad we can see that the new Tundra has a lifted suspension and blacked out features like the front grille and wheels.

Does anyone else think that the name "TRD" is unfortunate? All that comes to mind for me is the word "turd."

I actually can`t wait for this. Toyota makes great trucks but I still prefer my Chevy`s. TRD does look and sound weird, being one letter away from turd isn't helping

The very first time I saw that, that is exactly what came to my mind.

might be best to say it as "Toyota Racing Division" and not TRD

its going to take a little more then a lifted ride height and blacked out grill to go toe to toe with the raptor... but hey competition is competition, theres rumors it could be factory supercharged...

Toyota has been doing good with it's performance cars, seeing how they work with trucks will be interesting. I'd like to see some high performance truck from them, something like we never seen before.

that wont happen, maybe in some one off concept but just look how much the LFA is, just imagine how much the truck will cost.

It's more like a new V10 thats much cheaper, them using a current V8 of their's or developing a whole new V8.

Interesting. I do kind of like the Tundra. Wonder what the Pro will bring to the table.
