Chevy Silverado Cheyenne Concept Ready!

Trucks, of course, are meant to work hard. But as the saying goes, “work hard, play hard,” the basic tenet behind Chevrolet’s Silverado Cheyenne Concept that was unveiled on the eve of the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

This truck is meant to look mean and go fast, the latter of which is taken care of by General Motor’s 6.2-liter V8 that makes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Engineers at Chevy managed to trim 200 pounds off of this truck as well, thanks mainly to the use of carbon fiber, though the hitch assembly and some interior amenities are also absent to cut weight.

The new Camaro Z/28 lends parts to this truck as well, including the flat-bottom steering wheel and carbon ceramic brakes along with the 19-inch wheels finished in charcoal paint.

Chevy says that at the moment this is just a concept, though a brand exec admitted that the company is “continually exploring new ways to give Silverado customers more,” hinting that this may find its way into production.

this is a test

That is one sweet looking truck.

Those brakes much stop on a dime! It would be crazy if this thing made it to production.

Wonder how much miles it gets to the gallon :P

MPG's and performance truck shouldn't be things that get mentioned in the same thread, just saying
It's one or the other.

Those carbon ceramic brakes are sweet, something I hope the production model will have, but if it does, it is one more thing that justifies a $50k price tage

With these new Camaros being over weight pigs, I dont see this truck getting much worse fuel economy.

the point is, is that it's a truck with a V8, we shouldn't be worried about fuel economy.

at least the next gen camaro will get much lighter and won't be the pig it once was.

My point is in a performance vehicle, we shouldn't be worried about fuel economy, car or truck.

6th gen Camaro MUCH lighter, remains to be seen, but I'm not holding my breath. I'd take some extra weight over an extra $10,00-$20,000 making it lighter.
